First, I must say that I have used HOC, LLC since 2015 for various jobs in and around our home. They were always on time and did a good job. However, things have changed and I regret using them for what should have been an easy job in 2026.The contract was for plumbing, electrical, installation of cabinetry and countertops. Had a similar problem to Reginald E - they came out for an estimate for exterior second & third story painting with rear first floor painting. The handyman arrived with a ladder tall enough to only reach the second story. When I decided to cancel the rear painting part of the quotation they tried to charge more more than was itemized quoted for the remaining work. The business office extremely poor services. One of the things that they do to the customer is that once a person has come out and provided an initial estimate to complete a job they always appear to have unforeseen problems. They always attempt to a charge additional prices beyond the initial contract for work. I work with them twice on two separate projects and it resulted in the same issue. They kept us waiting for 5 weeks for a permit from the county for some electrical work. After five weeks, they called to say that they did not have an electrician who would be able to complete the work and backed out of the contract. On follow-up, they then told us that they had never even applied for the permit from the county, leaving me at square zero with 5 weeks of lost time.

The estimator came out and wrote an estimation of the work to be done. But the (2 men) subcontractor came and said they could not do the work on the estimate that was provided. So they went and sat in the truck and did nothing. Mr. Eric Ms. Kristin and Ms. Emily took my deposit and refuse to refund me $914.00 back. They said the project manager will only give me $725.00 and Handyman on call kept $189.00. But the men could not do the job. They could not install handrails, spindles and 2 newel posts.

I will not use this company ever again. They called and cancelled 2 hours before the work was to have been completed which required me to cancel another contractor and reschedule the entire process. The contractor who came to reconstruct a portion of the fence, brought the wrong wire mesh, i.e., the fence is a 4 foot fence, and requires a 4 foot wire mesh. He attempted to install a 3 foot mesh instead. Thankfully, I had a roll of 4 foot wire from the original construction of the fence and provided it in order to complete the... read more
